Physical Activity

Regular physical activity is part of a healthy lifestyle and plays a vital role in achieving and maintaining a healthy weight. In addition, regular physical activity is essential to reducing the risk of various chronic diseases.

Less than half of Indiana adults report getting the recommended amount of physical activity. It's more than just a matter of individual choice—our environments must support regular physical activity.

The State Indicator Report on Physical Activity 2010 provides for the first time information on physical activity behavior and policy and environmental supports within each state.
